Our Little Girl is Growing Up

Today was Marissa's first day of Preschool! Preschool, can you believe it?!! I'm still in shock, our little girl is not so little anymore. She was so excited. Her teacher runs a preschool out of her home. Well she has a school house in the her backyard, which is super cute by the way. Marissa has 9 other classmates (4 girls and 5 boys). I am so excited for her to meet new friends and learn cool stuff. She had a great time! Owen was excited to see her when we picked her up, he loves his big sis! Sorry the pics are blurry, I don't know what happened. It was probably a combination and the kids moving around and me excited and moving to camera too much as well, sorry.

An Amazing Weekend

Ok, so it Friday 1pm and I'm at work and my phone rings. It's Brock, Oooo exciting! Brock tells me as soon as I hang up the phone I have to call the airlines and book a ticket out to Chicago. He has liberty (time off) all weekend, and this time he gets to stay out all night. Last weekend after graduation I had to drop him off each night and pick him up the next morning (grrr). But since he's no longer on Medical hold and he's now on the Military Base he gets liberty all weekend!! So I get off the phone with Brock and I hop online to check out plane tickets and there is a non stop flight from here to Chicago leaving at 3:10 pm, so I race home packed my bags and was out the door. Luckily my mom and my sister were home so my mom took me to the airport while Monica watched the kids. I hoped on the plane and was there in Chicago with Brock by 9:30 Friday night!!! Crazy!! I couldn't believe it, two weekends in a row. It was like a dream.

Saturday we woke up and got our rental car and heading down to the NEX (Navy Exchange) to buy Brock some civilian clothes. Then we decided we had to try a Chicago Dog so we found this really cool place and got some traditional Chicago Red Hots (hot dogs). Lets just say they're not my favorite. They have everything on there I don't really like, mustard, relish, diced onions, a pickle and hot peppers. I'm here so I might as well try it, right. The rest of the day was pretty chill. Played indoor Black Light Mini Golf, went out to dinner, walked around a beautiful park and talked. Sunday we decided to be a little more adventurous and we drove to down town Chicago. Brock had looked at a few brochures a pieced together little sections of maps and decided it wouldn't be too hard to get there. We hoped in the car and just took off, we made it there and parked in the first available parking lot. We didn't want to drive around the middle of Chicago and end up lost. We went to the top of Sears Tower (well Willis Tower now). Then decided to walk to Navy Pier, it took us about 50 min to an hour to walk there. We didn't mind because there was so many cool things to look at. We then walked to a restaurant to have some authentic Chicago style pizza, which was unbelievable! I'm craving some right now. Then took a cab back to our car and went back to the hotel. We hung out there until I had to take Brock back to the Naval Base by 9:45pm. I flew out Monday morning. Oh, what a wonderful weekend! Can't wait for my next trip out there, next time I'm bringing the kids with me!
Looking down from the top of Sears Tower, pretty freaky!!

Really cool drummer guy we say while we were walking around Chicago.
