Cali Trip

Ok, I'm like a month behind. Last month we decided it was time to get away and to take Marissa to the beach. She's never been to the beach. We didn't end up taking Owen this time, 6 hours in the car ride with that kid would of felt like 12 hours. We ended up going with our best friends Bryan and Jen and their guy Colby (Marissa's best friend). We left Saturday morning and drove to Laguna Beach to stay with my older sister. Thank you Melissa for letting us stay with you! You place is so cute! We stayed in Laguna til Monday evening and then headed down to Oceanside and ended up staying at Jen's cousin's house. While we were there we got Marissa hooked on the slot machine. Jen's cousin had one in there playroom.
Brock and I ended up celebrating our 4 year anniversary. I can't believe we've been married for 4 years (is seems like 20, just kidding Brock). I am so lucky to have an amazing guy like Brock. We spent a lot of time at the beach, soaking up the sun. We ended our trip going to a Padres/D-back game. It was so fun to drive into San Diego and see the bridge that takes you to Coronado Island, where Brock will be going for his Navy SWCC training. It was such an amazing trip!

6 hours is such a long time. Time for a little nap.

We made it! Taking a walk down to the beach in Laguna Beach

Marissa's first walk on the beach. She didn't care for the sand at first.

Marissa and Colby

Marissa and her favorite Aunt Sissy. Again thanks Melissa for letting us stay with you.

Marissa eating some amazing Gelato Melissa bought for us.

This is just a pretty flower I saw while we were walking around Laguna Beach

Marissa winning the big money for us! Oh boy, what are we teaching our child.

My Little Man

Navy Family

Ok, I guess it's time to announce to everyone that Brock joined the United States Navy. I know, I freaked out at first too. I never thought that I would be a military wife. I know it's going to be hard but in the long run I know this is right for us. Brock signed up for SWCC (Special Warfare Combatant Crewman). It is a field in the Special Operation program. Which means he will learn how to operate the speed boats that patrol and protect the waters and they also take Navy Seals in and out of their missions. I am so proud of Brock, he works so hard and so much right now, he deserves to do something that he will enjoy and be able to get an education. That was a big plus about the Navy, with the G.I. Bill school will be completely paid for. Brock will spend 8 weeks in boot camp and then head to Coronado Island California (San Diego) for 22 weeks for his SWCC training, after that....?? I will be staying here in Arizona working until he is done with his SWCC training. I am going to go crazy, the longest we have been apart is a week, and during that week we called each other like 20 times a day. I don't know what I'm going to do when he leaves for boot camp and I won't be able to talk to him for 5 weeks!

I'm still here

Wow, time sure does fly. I didn't realize that it's been a month since I posted, sorry guys. Let's see...what's happened in the last month. Owen is all over the place. He started army crawling last month and now this month he's crawling and pulling himself up on things. He loves to crawl up and over Brock and get the tv remote hid on the other side of him. Nothing can get in his way. Marissa, not a whole lot going on with her. She started swim lessons and is doing great. She is learning how to float on her back and is starting to finally like getting her face wet.
Ok I finally put new batteries in my camera, so here are a few pics I've taken. These two are getting so big. They love playing together.

Lazy

Ok ,total loser, it's been forever since I've updated my blog, not because I forgot or that nothing has been going on, it's because I'm too lazy to get new batteries and put then in the camera. Yeah, that batteries died in my camera and I haven't put new ones in. I was able to snag a few picts today of Marissa working out with her dad. It was so funny, Marissa loves working out with Brock and myself but today was so funny. I come downstairs and found that Marissa had changed into her East Valley Sports shirt (just likes mom's shirt) and her basketball shorts (like dad) and then Brock wrapped one of his bandanna's around her head (also like dad) and she was stretching on the floor with him. I busted out laughing and had to try and take a picture and I was lucky enough that the batteries had enough juice in them to give me 2 pictures.

Ok, my boy is a wild one. He rolled over at 31/2 months and is now scooting his way around the family room. He turns 5 months tomorrow (the 9th) what the heck. I am in so much trouble. He can lift his legs underneath himself and lift up with his arms but he hasn't figured out how to use them together. He just pushes off with his legs and shoots across the room. For some reason he has a shoe fetish. No matter where he is in the room he always goes for the shoes, gross. I did so good and got the video camera out and taped him crawling but then when I tried to put the video on the computer I couldn't find the cord to download it to the computer. Oh man, we must of lost it in one of our moves, I hope I can buy another one. So as soon as I get a new cord I'll post a video.

Our adventures living in Pinetop

Well, I was going through some pictures on my mom's computer and found pictures taken while we were living in Pinetop, and I thought I would share some of them with everyone.

These were taken after General Conference (October 2006) up around Sunrise. The fall colors were so beautiful.

Haha, these pictures are of me and Monica's crazy trip to cali, to visit our sister Melissa and her hubby Gregg. While we were there it was Gregg's brothers birthday and they had a rock star party for him. We all dressed up and played Guitar Hero. FYI that is a bottle of root beer in Greggs hand, what a party animal. It was so much fun! The other picture was of us wearing fake mustaches Gregg had bought for Monica. I bet you didn't even recognize us. (October 2006)

Matt's Graduation, in December 2006 Matt graduated from ASU. I was working at the Dairy Queen in Show Low as a cake decorator and this is the cake I made for Matt's graduation. I was surprised the cake made the 2 1/2 hour trip down in one piece because it's made with ice cream. I was so lucky to have such a great job, I miss decorating cakes.

Ok , this is just a random picture of Marissa. She was probably about 18 months. I was getting ready to go to work and I came out and found her watching her show with her Baby Einstein movie box ontop of her head. What a weirdo.

Wow, I will never forget this!! These were taken a week after we moved up to Pinetop. We thought we missed the snow because we moved up there in March. We were wrong, so wrong! It snowed about 5 feet the weekend after we moved up there. That bump in the snow is my car! Brock spent all day Sunday digging a path to the road so he could go to work Monday morning but the trucks never came to plow the street. It was unbelievable to see so much snow. That was my first taste of living in the snow, and that is why we're now back in Mesa.
